Hey guys!
So everyone's been wanting to know whats up, what been happening, what i've done, who i've done. Its already Tuesday 20th. Really late to actually try remember everything, but I'll try mention the highlights. (Not all the highlights... most of what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas)
So i guess we need to start in the beginning. Well, when a mommy loves a daddy, and they come together... ok, not that far back.
Rewind to 19:00 Friday 16th March 2007. So I'm at the airport with Neil and Robyn. Thanks soo much to Neil for taking me, appreciate it. (about that pickup when i get back...) - The flight was pretty uneventful. Security wasn't too bad except for the silly questions - Who packed your bag, has it left your sight, did you lock it... all of course asked by a nice afrikaans accented girl. I flew Delta airlines and sat next to an American guy. He didn't say 1 word the whole flight. The flight is really really long. I left Friday at about 7pm and arrived at 3pm (although, in Atlanta it was 9am) - So the times zone stuff is really freaky. The guy i was sitting next to on the plane was an American and he didn't say even one word to me the whole flight. But its ok i guess, could of been an old lady that didn't shut up after showing me pictures of Fido.
The first impression on landing in the US (as it was my first time) was that the air was the same. Usually when I go to Europe, the air just somehow tastes different, didn't get that with Atlanta. It was quite cold, about 5 degrees celcius. Walking through the airport the first thing that struck me was that about every 50 meters was an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) - Nothing too unusual about this at airports, but every 50 meters? I guess Americans obesity and heart disease is a problem.
I hung around Atalanta airport until my flight to Las Vegas. I wanted to find something to eat, and the healthiest thing i could find was thai food. Everything is kinda like Kentucky. Fried and really big portions. Bottle of water was $1.79 - about R12.00 or so. The food is about on average $5-10 a meal. Quite expensive when you convert.
